Student Guide Introduction We think Elephants have good memories. That is why an Elephant is telling this story. It is about Adam and Eve. The Elephant remembers the lovely garden God made. God created it for Adam and Eve to live in. Adam named all of the animals. He was so happy when God created Eve. Application Yes, the Elephant remembers and we, too, need to remember what Adam and Eve did as well. They had everything. God created them perfect, but they chose to disobey. They sinned against God and because of their sin, mankind was changed. No longer does man live on this earth forever. Instead, man dies. No longer is the world perfect; there is now sickness and disease. All because Adam and Eve disobeyed God. The results of sin are great. Adam and Eve had to leave the garden so they would not eat of the tree of life and live forever in their sinful state. So great was their sin, that God sent His Son to suffer death on the cross. By trusting in Him we have eternal life, so that we can live forever with God in heaven. As we remember what the Elephant tells us we must learn to apply what
we have heard and obey the Lord each day. We must remember to do what
God has said in the Bible and to follow God's commands. We need to remember
also, the high cost of sin and disobedience and to know that one day
we will stand before God and answer for our own sin, just as Adam and
Eve had to answer for their sin. When we stand before God, let us do
so as faithful and obedient servants. Let us remember to serve God and
to do what He wants us to do each day. After all, obeying the Lord is the wise way to go. In fact , it's the
only way to go. |
